Another lino class

We had more fun a week ago when 3 people came to my latest lino printing class; Rebekah had come before and Ann and Paula were new to lino cutting.

An intense, busy day of learning and much discussion produced lovely prints.

Ann's charming print of William, her cat, star gazing through the window,

Rebekah's abstract flowers and a sample piece,

and Paula's bold flowers...

Discussions are a big part of the day....

that's the great value in taking part in a course, we all learn a lot from each other.

Recently I used my new Gelli plate for the first time, printing on  fabric

and paper.

It was fun to play with no outcome in mind although I'm more used to working with some project in mind.
I stamped over some of the papers.

The fabrics could end up in quilting projects and the papers be used for book covers and collage  if I end up with any I really like!

  1. What fun these look - workshops are such a great way of sharing each other's ideas whilst learning from the expert, and a lovely studio to learn in as well

  2. Looks like another successful workshop Anna. I wish I had shares in the Gelli plate, they seem to be a run away success. Maybe not for the purist, but easy and great fun. Of course results are all down to the skill of the artist.

  3. I was reading about Jill and her Gelli plate the other day and I see you are getting the same enjoyment from it too Anna. I am resisting the temptation to buy one as there are lots of other things on my 'to do' list and working on some lino is one of them. I am inspired by your course participants. Looks like a great time was had by all.

  4. This looks like a course I should have been on! I bought some new lino type material at the K&S show last autumn but haven't used it yet mainly becauseI can't tell which side to cut into. Its not got a fabric later but a shiny side and a matte side.
Congratulations on your new grandson and thank you for your comment on my blog.

  6. Hello Anna, it was so nice of you to visit my blog and leave such a lovely comment. I thought I'd come and have another look at your own blog, to see what's been going on. Definitely worth a look - great printmaking news, quilts and fabric prints, not to mention great Baby photos - congratulations by the way! I must remember to drop in more often :-)

  7. Great results from your class, I tried a bit of fabric on my gelli but I need to try again using a fabric medium mix so it is not so stiff. I love your owl and tree print to of my favousite together.
